Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando enters the holiday season with the exciting announcement of the architect and construction firm for their new shelter in Orlando.  Borrelli + Partners will undertake the design of their new home and construction of the space will be carried out by H.J. High.  The new facility will be located at 4311 & 4319 South John Young Parkway, Orlando, FL 32819.  The space will house the organization’s Orlando shelter, volunteer programs and the business office.  The expected completion date is September 2023.

Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando is undertaking a capital campaign to raise $14 million to cover the design, construction and all associated costs related to the new facility.

Pet Alliance is opening a temporary facility in Downtown Orlando at 777 West Central Boulevard that will serve as a space to house adoptable cats and serve as an offsite adoption location for dogs on the weekends.  The temporary space will also serve as a shelter medical facility and office for Pet Alliance’s foster program.  The space is expected to open in early 2022.

All of the dogs in Pet Alliance’s care are currently sheltered at the Sanford facility located at 2800 County Home Road in Sanford.

“We are excited to be moving forward with the new facility and working with Robert and Jorge and the entire team,” says Executive Director Steve Bardy.  “Our timeline has moved up a bit due to the fire at the Orlando shelter in September, but we were fortunate to be so far along in the selection process.  We are ready to rebuild!” J. “We feel a special connection with the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando project because our company cultures are so well-aligned,” says Robert High, President of H. J. High.  “This project is for one of the most beloved organizations in the community and we are honored to be part of it.”

About Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando

Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando was founded in 1937 as the Orlando Humane Society.  Since then, the organization has worked hard to provide positive and safe outcomes for pets.  Today, Pet Alliance has a dedicated focus on the welfare and well-being of dogs and cats in Orange, Seminole and Osceola Counties.  As the “go to” experts in Greater Orlando, they do good things for dogs and cats and the people who love them.  Their goal is to provide compassionate and knowledgeable services for pets and to be leaders in innovative animal care and veterinary medicine.  More than 5,000 surrendered pets and homeless animals turn to the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando for caring, compassion and hope through their shelters each year.  Pet Alliance provides food, medical care and shelter for dogs and cats until they find their new homes.  In addition to providing housing and care, Pet Alliance works to develop progressive and innovative programs that help keep pets and people together.  Pet Alliance also provides low-cost spay/neuter surgeries and animal wellness through their public veterinary clinics.  Their shelter programs are supported entirely by donations from the community they serve.  For more information on Pet Alliance, donations and to see available pets for adoption in real-time, visit www.petallianceorlando.com.
