See the Unmistakable Performer Who Moved a Generation and Pop Culture Phenomena Live in Concert

Victory Productions is proud to present Mickey Dolenz of The Monkees live in concert at the Sharon L. Morse Performing Arts Center in The Villages on Saturday, March 10 at 5pm and 8pm.  “Micky Dolenz: The Voice of the Monkees” will entertain with a collection of his hits, spanning to a dozen Top 20 singles, four #1 albums and two Emmy Awards.  Having entertained audiences his entire life, Micky brings a one-of-a-kind presence to the stage, drawing on his background in television, film broadcasting and Broadway.

Micky Dolenz was born into a showbiz family starring in his first TV series “Circus Boy” when he was six-years-old under the name of Mickey Braddock.  Exactly 10 years later, he was starring as the wacky drummer in the Emmy Award-winning show ‘The Monkees”.  A series of albums, featuring the songs of Carole King, Boyce & Hart, Neil Diamond and Harry Nilsson followed, selling in excess of 65 million records.

The post-Monkee years found Dolenz working in the U.K. as an actor, (Harry Nilsson’s “The Point”) and as a director/writer/producer, including the West End production of “Bugsy Malone” starring a 14-year old Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Upon his return Stateside, he vigorously pursued a career in musical theater, including the Nat Tour/West End production of “Hairspray” (Wilbur Turnblad), Nat Tour/Broadway production of Elton John and Tim Rice’s “Aida” (Zozer), the Goodspeed revival of “Pippin’’ (Charlemagne), the Nat Tour/Broadway production of “Grease” (Vince Fontaine) and “A Funny Thing Happened on the way to the Forum” (Pseudolus), as well as a re-grouped Monkees as a result of MTV-airing The Monkees show again and a new recorded album Justus.

Dolenz has also been a popular radio DJ, children’s book author, “anthro-mythologist” and most recently released three critically-acclaimed solo albums King for a Day, Remember and A Little Bit Broadway; A Little Bit Rock & Roll.

Last year, the 50th anniversary of The Monkees saw both a new world-tour and a critically acclaimed new album Good Times.
