National Tour to be Highlighted by Performances from U.S. Olympic Figure Skating Bronze Medalist Nathan Chen and Ice Dance Bronze Medalists Maia & Alex Shibutani

Every four years, the Winter Olympics give us a chance to revel in the performances of our favorite athletes, as well as celebrate any medals they may have won. The U.S. Olympic Figure Skating Team delivered against tough opposition winning a bronze medal in the team competition, while Maia & Alex Shibutani, the brother-sister two-time U.S. Ice Dance champions and three-time World medalists, also took home an Ice Dance Olympic bronze. Despite narrowly missing out on the podium, two-time National Champion Nathan Chen delivered one of the Olympics’ greatest single performances with his record-breaking free skate that featured six quadruple jumps. Those Olympic memories will be at the epicenter of the 2018 Stars on Ice tour featuring many of the skaters who medaled for the U.S. in the 2018 Winter Olympics. The 2018 Olympics may be over, but the dream of seeing your favorite skaters is very much alivewhen the tour visits Orlando’s Amway Center on Saturday, April 7. Tickets are on sale now.

This year’s Stars on Ice tour puts American fans front and center to experience the best of U.S. Figure Skating. Joining Nathan Chen and Maia & Alex Shibutani on the 2018 tour will be U.S. Champion and overnight sensation Adam Rippon, 2018 U.S. Ladies Champion Bradie Tennell, and National Champion Mirai Nagasu, who made history by landing the first triple axel for an American woman at the Olympics.

The 2018 Stars on Ice tour also presents several other skating luminaries, including U.S. Olympic royalty, Ice Dance Gold Medalists Meryl Davis & Charlie White; three-time National Champion and 2016 World Silver Medalist Ashley Wagner; and National Champion and huge crowd favorite, Jason Brown. Also featured on this year’s tour will be three other members of the 2018 U.S. Olympic Figure Skating team, 2017 U.S. Ladies Champion Karen Chen, 2018 National Ice Dance Champions Madison Hubbell & Zachary Donohue.

Founded and produced by Olympic Gold Medalist Scott Hamilton, Stars on Ice is one of the premier family entertainment events in the U.S., and the only figure skating tour in America that has annually brought fans the greatest performances and competitors from around the globe.

The Orlando Magic served as the developer of the Amway Center, which hosts major national events, concerts and family shows.  Opened in the fall of 2010, the facility is owned and operated by the City of Orlando on behalf of the Central Florida community. The Amway Center was designed to reflect the character of the community, meet the goals of the users and build on the legacy of sports and entertainment in Orlando. The building’s exterior features a modern blend of glass and metal materials, along with ever-changing graphics via a monumental wall along one facade. A 180-foot tall tower serves as a beacon amid the downtown skyline. The 875,000 square foot, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certified building features a sustainable,  environmentally-friendly design and unmatched technology, including 1,100 digital monitors, the tallest high-definition video board in an NBA venue and multiple premium amenities available to all patrons in the building. Amway Center was recently honored with the International Association of Venue Managers’ 2017 Venue Excellence Award which is bestowed upon facilities that excel in the management and operation of public assembly venues. Amway Center was the only arena to garner this distinction. Additionally, the arena has earned numerous awards which most notably includes TheStadiumBusiness Awards’ 2013 Customer Experience Award and was named SportsBusiness Journal’s 2012 Sports Facility of the Year.
