We came with hungry bellies and left more than satisfied. Satisfied is a drastic understatement. We left with the joy of what our taste buds just had the pleasure of experiencing. We left knowing that we’d return soon and what other delicacies we would try next time. The Polite Pig opened around a year ago at Disney Springs. Chef Duo James and Julie Petrakis, (owners and creators of Central Florida gems: The Ravenous Pig and Cask & Larder), were invited by Disney to open their new creation at Disney Springs. The idea for The Polite Pig started with BBQ, Beer, and Bourbon, and went from there. The menu is updated every so often as the owners listen to the guests. This is modern BBQ, meaning BBQ with a slight twist.
The restaurant is fast casual, but there also is the ability to make sit-down arrangements. Walk into The Polite Pig, place your order, and take a seat. There’s inside dining with a fresh exposed brick flair, outside dining, and a full open bar. Once you’ve ordered and taken a seat, a server will not only serve your meal, but check on you from time to time to see if you need additional drinks or other items from the menu. This hybrid of helping yourself and being helped is a perfect blend in today’s restaurant culture. You don’t have to choose between total sit-down service or fast food like atmosphere. The ambiance is comfortably exciting and relaxed with feel good music playing; perfect for dining, in the midst of the excitement of Disney Springs. It’s also nice to note that The Polite Pig is a part of the Disney Quick Service Plan.
Of course, as a BBQ based establishment, there is an array of sauces available for your taste buds’ pleasure. But your taste buds will likely be so astounded by the food itself, grabbing sauce might be unnecessary. The likes of sauces include: Lil’ John, BBQ Ranch, BBQ Mustard, and Layla Bar-B-Que Sauce.
To drink we ordered the Blue Sky Black Cherry, Grapefruit Margarita, and Polite Sangria. The Grapefruit Margarita made with Tequila, Citrus, and Grapefruit Liqueur was refreshing, as was the Polite Sangria with Spanish Red Wine and Blood Orange Liqueur. Both are a great way to cool down after walking throughout Disney Springs, and that’s only a small sample of the extensive drink options The Polite Pig offers. Blue Sky Beverages are perfect for those who want a non-alcoholic option, and the Black Cherry flavor hits the mark for those with a sweet tooth.
We truly feasted while visiting The Polite Pig, diving into a fantastic meal that included: The Southern Pig, Baby Back Ribs, BBQ Cheddar Sausage, BBQ Waffle Fries, Southern Potato Salad, and Polite Baked Beans.
The impressive Southern Pig, with Pulled Pork, Fennel-Apple Slaw, Tangy Mustard BBQ, and Duke’s Mayo is a mouthful of delight. The Tangy Mustard BBQ & Duke’s Mayo wonderfully enhance this beauty of a Pulled Pork sandwich. Make sure to leave room for the delicious Fennel-Apple Slaw.

The BBQ Cheddar Sausage with Bourbon Glaze is ideal for sausage lovers. The description alone details deliciousness:Cheddar, Sausage, Bourbon Glaze. What more can you want?
The Baby Back Ribs with Polite Rub has got to be the star of the menu. These ribs are cooked to perfection. You must taste for yourself.
Who isn’t a fan of sides? Often times they make the entire meal! The Market Sides at The Polite Pig will make everyone in your party happy.
Baked Beans are big in the South and in Great Britain. The Polite Baked Beans with Burnt Ends, Tomato, and Sausage will make a person from either side of the pond go gaga. The Burnt Ends are a great touch to these delicious Baked Beans. Waffle Fries are one of the best parts of eating out. There’s something wonderful about seeing Waffle Fries on a menu, and The Polite Pig’s BBQ Waffle Fries with Polite Rub will make you want more. Who isn’t a fan of Southern Potato Salad? The Polite Pig’s Southern Potato Salad made with Creamy Herb Dressing, Pickles, Egg, and Celery are a classic and fantastic addition to any plate.
