While still honoring the original design of course architect Larry Packard, Innisbrook announces the complete restoration of all 18 greens on the South Course this summer

Innisbrook Resort is pleased to announce they have just begun the renovation of the putting surface on all 18 greens of the popular South Course, one of four championship layouts at Innisbrook Resort near Tampa Bay. The five-month renovation process is expected to be completed by early Fall, and will use a no-till method of turf replacement resulting in a firmer, more consistent playing surface.  The greens will be planted with TifEagle Bermuda Grass – the same exceptional putting surface the PGA TOUR professionals rave about for the annual Valspar Championship on Innisbrook’s Copperhead Course.  The resort completed this same renovation to the North Course, also known as “Little Copperhead”, last year.

Innisbrook’s Managing Director Mike Williams’ commented, “We couldn’t be more excited to now complete this process on the South Course – the final course at the resort to receive this superior putting surface. We make it a continual practice to strive to enhance each guest experience, year over year.  This has resulted in an above average rate of return for our past golf guests and groups.  This practice, coupled with a dedicated staff that truly understands what our guests deserve and enjoy, has earned our reputation as Florida’s finest golf destination.”

In addition to the replacement of the greens, the renovation project also includes the expansion of the greens to their original size / design – allowing for additional pin placements; the addition of the TifEagle Bermuda Grass to the collars and fringe areas; thinning of trees and removal of intrusive tree species that have altered the original design of course architect Larry Packard; and the re-sodding and improvement of all bunker edging.

Innisbrook is located at 36750 U.S. Highway 19 North, Palm Harbor, FL 34684. For more information, visit InnisbrookGolfResort.com, or call (727) 942-2000.
