The West Coast of Florida plays home to the absolutely beautiful retreat that is Innisbrook. This wonderful Golf and Spa resort is an extensive property located in Tampa. Not only is the resort a golfer’s dream, but it is also a fantastic place to take the family and getaway from it all.
Most rooms afford spectacular views overlooking the golf courses. Although the rooms are comfortable and inviting, we doubt that you will want to spend most of your time in your room. The Golf Courses and surrounding amenities will excite you.
Our room possessed everything we could desire and more. We had a spacious parlor where we could relax as if we were in our own home. Our balcony provided lovely views of the green, and brought a peaceful feeling amidst a sanctuary.
All of the rooms at Innisbrook include flat screen TVs, safes, iPod docking stations – but that’s only a small sample of the amenities available in your room. You have a choice of a Deluxe Guest Room, Executive Suites, One Bedroom Suites, or Two Bedroom Suites. The Executive Suites, One Bedroom Suites, and Two Bedroom Suites include full kitchens. Although we had a full kitchen, we dined out every evening. You will likely find yourself dining at one of the many restaurants while you enjoy your stay.
Golf Course and Amenities
Innisbrook’s four majestic championship golf courses are designed by Lawrence Packard, and this includes the Copperhead course. One of the PGA Tour’s Championships takes place on the Copperhead Course every March. Other Golf courses include the Island Course, North and South Courses, and the Fox Squirrel and 9-Hole Walking Course. The Fox Squirrel and 9-Hole Walking Course is recommended for Summer family fun.
There are plenty of pool options at Innisbrook ranging from family-friendly to the more secluded. This is another example of why Innisbrook is an all-around fantastic resort for everyone.
On another note, Innisbrook boasts numerous facilities available for group events such as weddings and conferences. This includes both indoor and outdoor possibilities, which is complemented by over 600 spacious guest rooms.
The Indaba Spa
The newly-renovated Indaba Spa at Innisbrook is an optimal spa experience awaiting your arrival. Indaba is Innisbrook’s new spa, salon, and fitness center. The spa features steam rooms, plunge pools, a meditation labyrinth, a relaxation courtyard, and treatment terraces. The fitness center provides daily classes, as well as weight-training and cardiovascular equipment. In the new spa, there are a variety of core treatments to choose ranging from the Cashmere Quench Wrap to the Mellow Mama. There are also seasonal rituals at the Spa. The Indaba Spa at Innisbrook Resort is home to some of Tampa’s most respected – and sought-after – spa therapists. This fact became apparent during our experience here.
Andrea and Taylor were among the accommodating staff that welcomed us upon our arrival at the Spa. We were fortunate to experience the Salamander Spa Signature Ritual by our wonderful masseuses Karen and Judit. The treatment starts with a scalp massage and includes not only a full body massage, but a foot scrub as well. Our experience at the new Indaba Spa was outstanding. We recommend treating yourself to some much needed “me” time at the Indaba Spa. There is plenty of space to relax at the Spa. What you will experience is an opportunity to reconnect with your body. The products used at the Spa were from Zents. We left with treasures from our Spa Experience: a Luminous Cashmere Body Oil from Zents, an Ageless Aloe Moisture Wash, and a feeling of utter relaxation.
There are numerous restaurants at Innisbrook which include Packard’s Steakhouse, Market Salamander, Market Salamander Grille, Turnberry Pub, and TheGrill at Loch Ness. We had the pleasure of dining at Packard’s Steakhouse and the Market Salamander Grille.
Packard’s Steakhouse is a fantastic evening spent at Innisbrook. We recommend dining at Packard’s whether or not you are staying the resort. To begin, we were greeted by the congenial manager Gail who guided us to our table. Our server Teresa is clearly a favorite server at Packard’s and we can see why. She connected with the guests on a personal level. Teresa made us feel at home, and honestly recommended what she thought we would enjoy.
For our evening at Packard’s Steakhouse, we started with Bacon Wrapped Jumbo Shrimp, Cast Iron Crab Cakes, and Kona Crusted Grilled Lollipop Lamb Chops. The signature Kona Crusted Grilled Lollipop Lamb Chops are drizzled with Aged Balsamic Reduction and White Truffle Oil. These lamb chops were succulent, juicy, tender, and absolutely delicious.
The Bacon Wrapped Jumbo Shrimp with Tequila Lime Barbeque Sauce with Avocado and Corn Salad is a mixture of Key West meets the “South”. The Tequila Lime Barbeque Sauce added a tropical twist to this fun Starter.
As a palate cleanser, we enjoyed the Signature Packard’s Salad. This dynamite Salad is a combination of Candied Pecans, Mixed Field Greens, Shredded Carrots, Tomatoes & Dried Cranberries in a Cabernet Dijon Dressing, with a dollop of creamy Boursin Cheese.
For our Main Courses, we chose the Game Selection and a 16 oz. Prime NY Strip. The Prime New York Strip is the well marbled Center Cut of the Short Loin. The august 16 oz. NY Strip was accompanied with Cracked Black Pepper Brandy Sauce and Truffle Butter. The Truffle Butter combines Fresh Herbs, Truffle Essence, Garlic & a touch of White Wine.
The Game Selection was Red Deer, with Herb Grilled Asparagus and Garlic Mashed Potatoes. The Red Deer with Demi-Glace Sauce was spectacular. As an enhancement, we also ordered Jumbo Shrimp to accompany the dish. These four Jumbo Shrimp were sauteed in Herb Butter. As one of our sides, we ordered the Cream Spinach. Do yourself a favor and order the Cream Spinach.
At the close of our evening, we enjoyed Hot Chocolate Truffle Cake and Grand Marnier Angel Food Cake. The Grand Marnier Angel Food Cake, complete with Mixed Berry Compote and Fresh Whipped Cream, was the essence of light and sweet. This airy dessert was perfect after a meal.
Market Salamander Grille
Another one of the dining options we enjoyed at Innisbrook was the Market Salamander Grille. At the start, we sampled a taste of the new menu, which included delightful Braised Brisket on a Banana Tortilla.
For Appetizers, we ordered the Hoisin Chicken Wonton Parcels and Brisket Sliders. The delicate Wonton Parcels consisted of Shredded Chicken, Cucumbers, Korean BBQ, Thai Slaw, and Soy-Ginger Sauce. The Soy-Ginger balances well with the toothsomeness of the Hoisin Sauce. Hoisin Sauce is always a win, and you can really taste the kick of Ginger in the Soy-Ginger Sauce. The Thai Slaw is a slight spicy Chili Slaw.
The Brisket Sliders are another great appetizer. The Brisket is marinated all night long, and the Barbeque Sauce is made in-house. As for our main courses, we chose the Asian 5 Spice Ahi Tuna, and Deconstructed Bacon Wrap Scallop. The delicious Deconstructed Bacon Wrap Scallop, with Seared Sea Scallop, Braised Pork Belly, Melted Leeks, and Maple Sherry Reduction, was served with Herb Risotto.
The appetizing Asian 5 Spice Ahi Tuna was prepared with Asian Slaw, Fiery Wasabi Micro Greens, and Light Soy.
For Dessert, we chose the Key Lime Pie with Swiss Meringue and Chocolate Passion Fruit Dome. The Key Lime Pie with Swiss Meringue came with a Cinnamon Crust, Key Lime filling, and Mango Lime Essence.
The Mango Essence was a nice touch to compliment the tangy Lime. The consistency of the Mango Lime Essence paired well with the rest of the Pie. While the Lime taste remains zestful, the Mango provided a dulcet balance. The Chocolate Passion Fruit Dome consisted of Chocolate Mousse, Passion Fruit Cremeux, Flourless Chocolate Cake, and White Chocolate Glaze. This dessert was lovely and rich.
Innisbrook is a hideaway, surrounded by rolling hills and pine trees. You may think that you are further up North, but the relaxed attitude, sunny weather, and shuttle to the beach give away that you’re in Florida. Our stay at Innisbrook was wonderful. Beautiful Innisbrook is a resort like no other.
