Now, in its 9th successful year, Downtown Orlando’s dynamic cultural community, The Downtown Arts District, and CityArts Factory announce the award-winning 9th annual “Dia De Los Muertos & Monster Factory” Exhibit and Block Party presented by el Jimador on Thursday, October 18.  Continuing to grow more monstrous than ever, for this year’s fun-charged event, inspired by the traditional Mexican holiday, guests can view the original artwork and Ofrendas by local and national artists themed in Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) and Halloween exhibited at CityArts Factory from 6pm-11pm.  Plus, the Street Party will return to Pine Street from 6pm-11pm featuring live music, dance and theatre performances by Phantasmagoria, Bloody Jug Band, Mariachi Oro, Ritmo Kru and BalaChandra Belly Dancing, spooky art vendors, food, face painting, a kids crafts area, costume contest, photo opportunities, raffles and much more.  Suggested entrance donation is $5, and all proceeds support Downtown Arts District.  Visit for more information.

Dia De Los Muertos & Monster Factory runs in collaboration with Downtown Arts District’s monthly “3rd Thursday Gallery Hop and Art Walk” from 6pm-11pm.  Held the third Thursday of every month, 3rd Thursday celebrates art, technology and business.  Thousands of visitors converge in Downtown Orlando for an evening of sights, sounds, food, shopping and cosmopolitan living.  The event includes The Gallery Hop, featuring numerous galleries and non-traditional art venues that spotlight the best of established and emerging Orlando-based artists in tandem with nationally and internationally acclaimed artists; the Tech Meetup, offering tech enthusiasts and entrepreneurs the chance to socialize and hear five different technology groups present live product demos; and Business Networking, allowing attendees to experience one of Downtown’s fine establishments while making great local business connections
